Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Starbase, Texas, seeks an Avionics Integration & Test Technician for the night shift to support Starship programs. You will read schematics, test electronics, assemble harnesses, and document results with precision.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and 1+ years in wiring or electro-mechanical sub-assemblies, plus experience with DMMs, oscilloscopes, and data acquisition tools; IPC/NASA/J-STD certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ years of experience manufacturing wire harnesses or electro-mechanical sub-assemblies.
  • 1+ years of experience using electronics equipment (e.g. DMMs, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, power supplies, DAQs).
  • Experience in aerospace, aviation, military, or other high-reliability industry preferred.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Read, interpret, and work from released schematics and drawings as well as from uncontrolled documentation. Interpret design intent and provide feedback to engineering to complete documentation.
  • Perform validation and testing of various electronic components using equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and test racks.
  • Perform integration on a full system suite of electronics to include on-vehicle, ground segment, and ground support applications.
  • Document results in a clear, precise, and complete manner.
  • Assemble and repair high quality wire harnesses, test racks, junction boxes, and associated components.
  • Support the development of avionics hardware and procedural improvements via design, test, fabrication, and work instruction efforts. Self-monitor progress and achieve on time delivery of all work.

AVIONICS INTEGRATION & TEST TECHNICIAN (STARSHIP) - NIGHT SHIFTRESPONSIBILITIES

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years of experience manufacturing wire harnesses or electro-mechanical sub-assemblies
  • 1+ years of experience using electronics equipment (e.g. DMMs, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, power supplies, DAQs, etc.)
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in aerospace, aviation, military, or other high-reliability industry
  • Skill in operating and manipulating machinery and various hand and power tools requiring manual dexterity
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments
  • Prior or current IPC-A-620, NASA 8739-4, J-STD-001, or the company AV1200-4 certifications
  • Basic knowledge of electronics theory and principles
  • Experience drafting or modeling in a 3D environment
  • Experience using schematic capture applications
  • Experience with Atlassian tools including Confluence and JIRA
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills
  • Excellent concentration and attention to detail with outstanding work efficiency and accuracy
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to work night shift: 5:45PM - 5:45AM
  • Must be able to work all shifts and available for overtime and weekends as needed
  • Ability to work at elevated heights.
  • Some traveling will be necessary - 10%
  • Stand: Up to 10 hours per day
  • Sit: Up to 10 hours per day
  • Push/Pull: Up to 50lbs. (unassisted) 15 minutes or less per day
  • Overhead reach: Up to 3 hours per day
  • Walk: Up to 3 hours per day
  • Lift/Carry: Up to 25lbs. (unassisted) 15 minutes or less per day
  • Climb (ladder/stairs): Up to 3 hours per day
  • Kneel/Crouch: Up to 3 hours per day
  • Upper body twist: Up to 6 hours per day
  • Ability to work in temperatures over 80 degrees up to 30 minutes or less per day
  • Candidate must be capable of safely working with high voltage and performing the physical requirements of the job listed in the job description
