Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a skilled harness fabrication technician to interpret blueprints and electrical drawings for spacecraft and ground systems. You will assemble and test harnesses, verify tolerances, and document non-conformances as needed.

Responsibilities include building and terminating wiring harnesses for racks and boxes, reading schematics, using testers and multimeters, and ensuring conformance to specifications. Experience with J-STD-001 and NASA standards is a plus.

Qualifications

• Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams to extract assembly requirements.
• Experience fabricating harnesses to meet strict engineering specs.
• Proficiency with hand tools and diagnostic electronics troubleshooting.

• Use wire harnesses with equipment such as high potential testers, multimeters, force gauges
• Read schematics, harness wiring diagrams, layout drawings, mechanical drawings, circuit layouts, and parts lists
• Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications
• Use computer applications for work documentation
• Document non-conformances and associated rework/repair
• Meets necessary certification as required
• Performs incidental related duties as assigned or required

Job description

Fabricate harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings and specifications, and written assembly, integration and test procedures for spacecraft and ground systems. Perform assembly and integration operations to precise tolerances requiring interpretation and application of experience to determine the most appropriate method to meet engineering requirements and specifications.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

• Fabricate harnesses for spacecraft and ground systems
• Build and terminate high quality wiring harnesses for racks and boxes
• Assemble wire harnesses per J‐STD‐001 space, NASA.STD.8739.4A
• Use hand tools, repairing and troubleshooting electronic components
• Use wire harnesses with equipment such as high potential testers, multimeters, force gauges
• Read schematics, harness wiring diagrams, layout drawings, mechanical drawings, circuit layouts, and parts lists
• Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications

Compensation

$29-47/hour depending on years of experience and skillset
