Lees Summit R-7 School District in Lees Summit, MO is seeking an AVID Tutor for Lee's Summit North HS. The role supports AVID students, conducts tutoring sessions, and collaborates with the AVID coordinator and teacher. Training is required before classroom tutoring and the position is part-time with a pay rate of $18 per hour.

Qualifications

• Complete AVID Tutor Training Course and provide completion documentation to Human Resources
• Trained tutors rate of pay is $18 per hour
• Official college transcript

Responsibilities

• Participates actively in developing the academic and personal strengths of AVID students
• Serves as a role model/mentor to AVID students
• Assessments from student’s notes and discussions, determine concepts to be taught or retaught
• Evaluates student binders, including calendars, class and textbook notes
• Researches AVID Curriculum Libraries and materials for AVID students
• Conducts tutorial sessions in mathematics and supports writing across subjects
• Sets examples of personal excellence and high expectations for AVID students
• Works with writing process in brainstorming, clustering, revision and editing
• Communicates progress and concerns with AVID coordinator/teacher
