Job summary

Fort Worth ISD seeks an AVID teacher for Grades 6-12 (Pool) to deliver rigorous instruction aligned with the district curriculum. You will use well-designed lesson plans and high expectations to accelerate student learning.

Reports to the Principal and works within a 187-day duty cycle; salary follows the Teacher Salary Schedule. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree and a valid Texas teaching certificate, with experience serving diverse student populations; bilingual ability is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Texas Teacher certificate at the appropriate level for assignment.
• Experience working with diverse student populations preferred.
• Bilingual fluency is beneficial in some settings.

Responsibilities

• Teach the District curriculum utilizing well-designed lesson plans and rigorous instruction. Focus on standards-based objectives and differentiated delivery to accelerate learning.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional materials and strategies to address individual needs.
• Develop instructional units and opportunities for enrichments, differentiations and project-based learning for collaboration and creative thinking.
• Assess and document student mastery using multiple assessment tools and data-driven interventions, including standardized tests and formative tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and state/local assessment preparation.
