Job summary

Comlux America LLC in Indianapolis, IN is seeking an Upholstery Technician Trainee to learn foundational upholstery fabrication and installation for VIP aircraft interiors. You will assist with seat covers, cushions, panels, trims, and carpeting while building skills in sewing, foam prep, material handling, and interpreting engineering docs.

Under supervision, you will progress toward interpreting drawings, signing off on regulatory paperwork, and maintaining a safe, organized hangar workspace

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; trade school is a plus.
• Basic understanding of upholstery processes in manufacturing or aviation.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints/engineering docs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare upholstered surfaces for foam and covering using hand tools per procedures.
• Learn sewing operations for seat covers, curtains, and upholstery components.
• Interpret material specs and engineering drawings to meet design specs.
• Assist with material handling to support production workflow.
• Identify materials and supplies to maintain continuous workflow.
• Document regulatory sign-offs per RSQM and quality standards.
• Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work environment.
• Develop working knowledge of installation procedures and IOps.
