Job summary

Comlux America in Indianapolis is seeking an Upholstery Technician Trainee to learn and perform upholstery fabrication and installation for VIP aircraft interiors. You will start with sewing, foam prep, material handling, and reading engineering docs while following company procedures and safety standards.

Within 90 days you will interpret specs, sign off on regulatory documents, and contribute to continuous workflow in a hangar environment.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of upholstery processes.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare upholstered surfaces for foam and covering using hand tools.
• Perform basic sewing operations on seat covers and curtains.
• Interpret material specs and drawings to ensure components meet specs.
• Assist with preparation and handling of upholstery materials for production.
• Request materials to ensure continuous workflow.
• Complete regulatory documentation and sign-offs per RSQM and standards.
• Follow safety guidelines and use PPE properly.
• Learn installation procedures, process specs, and IOps.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
