IAT Insurance Group is seeking an Aviation Underwriting Specialist. The role involves evaluating complex aviation and general liability risk, building relationships with agencies, and operating with hybrid in-office/remote schedule.

Strong underwriting judgment and data-driven analysis are essential. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of underwriting in aviation or related spaces and may progress to Underwriting Director based on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5+ years underwriting experience in aviation/general liability.
• Experience building own book of business in commercial aviation.
• Desirable professional designations: CAIP, CPCU, ARM, AU.

Responsibilities

• Review underwriting files to accept new business or renewals within authority.
• Evaluate documents to identify exposure and minimize risk.
• Determine account premiums within company plans and authority.
• Interpret contracts and policies to clarify exposures and risk.
• Provide coverage verification to Claims Department.
• Market to agencies to generate new business.
• Travel up to 25% for agency visits.
