Job summary

HX5 is seeking a Mechanical Designer for the GEARS contract at NASA Glenn Research Center in Brook Park, Ohio. The role involves CAD modeling, drafting, and coordinating with Mechanical Engineers to develop hardware for NASA applications.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of Creo, Windchill, and ASME Y14.5M GD&T, with experience in aerospace hardware and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications

• Background in Mechanical Design with knowledge of machining and fabrication practices.
• Proficiency with design principles and drafting standards such as ASME Y14.5M GD&T.
• Experience with Creo for large assemblies and complex drawings.
• Windchill PLM for configuration management of models and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop solid models and engineering drawings per NASA and industry standards.
• Create and maintain drawings including fabrication, assembly, and interfaces.
• Work with project teams to meet schedules and objectives.
• Coordinate across teams to ensure design integrity and issue resolution.
• Communicate effectively to identify and solve problems.
