Job summary

Crown Innovations, Inc. is seeking an experienced Aviation Software Verification & Test Engineer to support verification, testing, and certification of advanced navigation systems. The role emphasizes DO-178C compliance, SCADE usage, and strong Java development in a remote/Eastern Time setting.

The ideal candidate will independently analyze requirements, develop verification strategies, execute tests, and produce high-quality evidence for certification. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum eight years of professional software development, software verification, software testing, or related engineering experience.
• Minimum five years of Java development experience.
• Direct professional experience using SCADE.
• Direct experience supporting DO-178C software development, verification, testing, or certification activities.
• Demonstrated experience developing and executing requirements-based software test cases and procedures.
• Experience testing avionics software with hardware integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and execute software and system test cases, test scripts, and test procedures.
• Perform requirements-based verification of safety critical avionics software.
• Conduct functional, system, integration, and performance testing.
• Verify software behavior against system and software requirements.
• Analyze test results and document anomalies.
• Perform regression testing following software or requirements changes.
• Support software verification activities throughout the avionics development lifecycle.
• Ensure test artifacts are complete, traceable, and suitable for certification evidence.
