Job summary

Torch Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Software Test Engineer in Huntsville, AL to support verification and airworthiness qualification for a next-generation Army aviation platform. You will supervise FQT, review SIL-to-flight transitions, and ensure DO-178C/DO-254 compliance across contractor artifacts.

The role requires 5+ years in defense software testing, active clearance, and experience with aviation software standards. On-site in Huntsville with travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in defense software testing.
• Must have active SECRET clearance or higher.

Responsibilities

• Oversee OEM and supplier FQT and high-level testing to meet DO-178C/DO-254.
• Review software life cycle data artifacts for airworthiness compliance.
• Provide government oversight for TRR and FQT milestones.
• Audit SOI processes for AEH development against airworthiness objectives.
• Oversee transition of incremental software releases from SIL to flight test.
• Evaluate contractor testing supporting Army airworthiness and SOF compliance.
• Evaluate next-gen software architectures for MOSA and FACE compliance.
• Develop briefing materials for senior leadership.
• Identify software integration risks and resolve bottlenecks.
