Job summary

Boeing Global Services, Cabin, Modifications, Maintenance seeks an Experienced Software Certification Engineer (Systems) for a contract assignment in Long Beach, CA. Work involves certifying airborne software components to DO-178C/DO-254 and coordinating with suppliers and regulators to meet FAA/EASA requirements.

You will develop, review, and certify software architectures, requirements, interfaces, and designs, and lead lifecycle processes, ensuring on-time delivery and conformance to Boeing

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering or related field; 3+ years in software life cycle, CM and Agile best practices.
• 3+ years developing and maintaining architectures, requirements and interfaces for software systems.
• 3+ years leading software development projects.
• Experience with Git or equivalent version control.
• Experience with Agile planning tools (JIRA, GitLab or similar).
• Aviation standards DO-178C and DO-254 knowledge required.
• Domain expertise in cabin, seats, IFE or onboard networks.

Responsibilities

• Generate software components (PDIs), UMS, and field loadable software for aircraft modifications per DO-178B/C.
• Review and approve suppliers' software lifecycle data across planning to certification.
• Oversee preparation and submission of documents for certification.
• Collaborate with regulators, suppliers, and global sites to ensure compliance to regulations and Boeing standards.
• Monitor progress to meet safety and certification milestones.
• Develop and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs.
• Lead deployment of processes, tools, and metrics.
• Participate in industry groups and author internal design standards.
