Job summary

Textron Aviation in Houston, TX is seeking an Experienced Sheet Metal Technician to fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal components for general aviation aircraft. You will set up and operate fabricating machines, shape metal, and join parts with rivets and welding equipment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, at least 2 years of aviation sheet metal experience, and familiarity with FAA AC 43-13-1B.

Qualifications

High School education, or a GED, is required.
Minimum 2 years of diversified aviation sheet metal experience.
FAA AC 43.13-1B familiarity is helpful.
Knowledge of corrosion types and removal procedures is helpful.
Experience with wash etch and Alodine materials is helpful.
Experience applying primer is helpful.
Ability to identify rivets, bolts, screws, nuts, and washers is helpful.

Responsibilities

Project Planning: determine requirements using blueprints and instructions.
Sheet Metal Layout: lay out and alter parts from drawings.
Riveting and Removal: rivet and remove sheet metal components with various tools.
Metal Fabrication: bend, form, drill metals for precise parts.
Hole Preparation: countersinking, dimpling, deburring.
