Textron Aviation in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Sheet Metal Technician to fabricate, repair, and install aircraft structures. You will read blueprints and work from technical specs to ensure quality and safety for our general aviation aircraft.

Role requires 3+ years in aviation sheet metal, ability to interpret drawings, and FAA AC-43.13-1B knowledge. Eligible for a $4,000 sign-on bonus. Base pay varies within the Textron total rewards package.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of diversified aviation sheet metal experience.
• Ability to read and interpret aircraft blueprints, drawings and structural repair manuals.
• Knowledge of FAA AC-43.13-1B and aircraft structural repair practices.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an airport security badge, if required.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, repair, install sheet metal components and aircraft structures per procedures and drawings.
• Interpret blueprints, determine requirements, materials and repair methods.
• Lay out, bend, form, and shape sheet metal parts to precise specs.
• Drill, deburr, countersink, and dimple components for proper fit and safety.
• Remove and install rivets and other fasteners using specialized tools.
• Work according to aviation maintenance standards and safety regulations.
