The City of Dayton is seeking dedicated Airport Police Officers to provide comprehensive law enforcement at aviation facilities, enforcing TSA/FAA regulations and state laws. Applicants must have OPOTC certification, a valid driver’s license, and pass extensive background, medical, and psychological exams, plus the Airport Police Field Training Program.

Qualifications

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must possess valid Ohio Peace Officer Training Council (OPOTC) certificate or equivalent.
  • Must be able to pass background checks and medical/psychological examinations.
  • Must meet citizenship and driver’s license requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full law enforcement services at aviation facilities and enforce TSA/FAA regulations and state laws.
  • Perform foot and vehicle patrols, write detailed reports, issue citations, and make arrests as warranted.
  • Administer first aid and coordinate hospital transport as needed.
  • Assist airport operations during irregular operations and manage central dispatch duties and access control systems.
