Job summary

Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company, seeks an Aviation Safety Summer Intern to join our Cincinnati, OH headquarters for a paid 10-week program from June 7 to August 13, 2027. 35–40 hours weekly; local students preferred; travel not offered.

Duties include safety data management, KPI tracking, and assisting SMS administration. Open to sophomores and juniors pursuing a Bachelor's degree in aviation or related fields; relocation not provided; strong Excel/Outlook skills and

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, working towards a Bachelor's Degree.
• Task-oriented, organized, and conscientious.
• Clear, professional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong work ethic, self-motivated, positive, personable, and ability to develop relationships.
• Must be proficient in EXCEL, Word, Outlook and have experience with internet research.
• Must be comfortable with Excel spreadsheets, tracking, and analysis.
• Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the integrity of confidential safety records, databases, and reporting systems.
• Contribute to safety promotion and employee engagement initiatives through safety communications and materials.
• Assist with administration of the SMS and Continuous Improvement programs.
• Support investigation, organization, documentation, and analysis of safety reports and data.
• Help develop and track KPIs related to safety objectives.
• Assist with reviewing SMS risk assessments and documentation of actions.
• Prepare presentations, reports, and metrics for safety meetings.
• Participate in safety committee meetings and document findings.
• Research industry safety initiatives and regulatory updates for improvements.
• Monitor corrective and preventive actions for compliance.
• Collaborate with Flight Operations, Maintenance, Flight Support, and Training on safety initiatives.
• Perform special projects related to aviation safety and operational excellence.
