Job summary

McGee Air Services is seeking a Manager, Safety to lead safety programs across all station operations. You will direct Duty Managers, Safety and GSE Specialists, and ensure compliance with OSHA, FAA, and TSA regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

The role emphasizes risk mitigation, incident investigations, and training. A Bachelor's degree in aviation management or related field and at least 3 years in aviation operations are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aviation management, business administration, or closely related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the aviation or airline industry, specifically in ground handling or airport operations.
• At least 3 years of experience managing projects with a focus on operational improvements or safety initiatives.
• Advanced understanding of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and comprehensive airline security compliance, including TSA and FAA requirements.
• Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA regulations, TSA protocols, and FAA requirements directly related to customer service and ground handling operations.
• Strong knowledge of ground support equipment (GSE) operations, maintenance schedules, and safety standards.
• Proven ability to conduct thorough root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Duty Managers, Safety Specialists, and GSE Specialists to ensure comprehensive safety oversight across all operational areas.
• Train and mentor safety specialists to perform inspections, compliance audits, and incident investigations.
• Drive team performance through coaching, feedback, and evaluations.
• Ensure station compliance with OSHA, FAA, and TSA regulations and safety requirements.
• Develop and implement processes to maintain adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with Customer Safety Management teams to improve safety practices.
• Oversee GSE operations, including equipment allocation, inspections, and maintenance coordination.
• Lead safety metrics improvements via data-driven decision making and root cause analyses.
• Direct incident investigations and develop mitigation plans to prevent recurrence.
• Deliver ongoing safety training programs for operations teams.
