Job summary

Colonial Group seeks a Safety Manager to lead the development, implementation and promotion of a safe, accident-free work environment. The role coordinates with the Corporate Safety department and local management in promoting the One Safety program and oversees a team of local Safety Coordinators.

The ideal candidate has a related Bachelor’s degree with aviation industry experience, FAA/airport identifications, and the ability to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays to sustain

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent education/experience.
  • Minimum seven (4) years of experience in the aviation industry.
  • Must possess/maintain a valid State driver’s license and FAA/Airport identifications or authorizations.

Responsibilities

  • Supports implementation of safety policies to comply with safety, health, enviro and security requirements.
  • Consults with departments on equipment design and safety programs.
  • Leads hazard/risk analysis and identifies mitigation methods.
  • Oversees training evolution including classroom, OJT and recurrent.
  • Conducts inspections, audits, and reports unsafe findings with root-cause analysis.
  • Ensures compliance with regulations and customer requirements.
  • Investigates near misses and incidents to drive corrective actions.
  • Maintains records and supports IMS and SMS programs.
