Job summary

Airbus Americas, Inc. in Mobile, AL is seeking a Quality Inspector to join our production team. You will execute and confirm quality inspections focused on aircraft structure and mechanical systems throughout the manufacturing process.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, at least 3 years in aviation quality inspection, and knowledge of quality management systems plus inspection coordination. Previous mechanic or technician experience is desirable; airline exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• 3 years of experience as a Quality Inspector in aviation with emphasis on mechanical/structural components
• Previous mechanic or technician experience is desirable
• Airline experience is desirable
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems
• Knowledge of drawing systems, inspection plans, and inspection coordination
• Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and tools used in the production line
• Handling and use of inspection tools for length measuring techniques (mechanical, optical, electrical)
• Effective verbal and written communication in English

Responsibilities

• Execute technical inspections during aircraft production to verify compliance with design specifications and certification requirements
• Prepare and perform visual, incoming, first article, final inspections
• Document inspections in SAP-based and SAL-based IT systems using inspection marks
• Support troubleshooting and participate in Quality Survey requests
• Compile technical data of non-conformance for NCMS-based quality discrepancy sheets
• Document results in FLEXNET/NCMS/SAP systems
• Attend audits of Non-Conformance Rework Orders and MRB reviews
• Review PV approvals and process adherence
• Track and maintain components during Non-Conformance processes
• Perform other duties as assigned
