Job summary

AAR Aircraft Services Greensboro in North Carolina seeks a Director of Quality to lead the strategic direction and execution of the Quality Management System across engineering, manufacturing, modification, repair, and certification activities. You will interface with FAA and customers, drive continuous improvement, and develop a high-performing QA organization.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering, Aviation, Business, Operations or related discipline.
• Minimum ten (10) years of aviation quality, manufacturing, certification, or regulatory compliance experience.
• Minimum five (5) years of leadership experience managing quality organizations and cross-functional teams.
• Experience interfacing with the FAA on Part 21, Part 145, PAH and certification activities.
• Strong working knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 21, 25, 43, 45, 145, and 183.
• Experience in FAA-regulated manufacturing, modification, and/or repair environments.
• Knowledge of AS9100, ISO-based quality systems, auditing and continuous improvement.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain the Quality Management System for FAA compliance and customer standards.
• Establish quality policies, procedures, inspection programs and metrics.
• Provide leadership for all QA and inspection activities including MRB.
• Interface with FAA, customers, auditors, and regulators for audits and corrective actions.
• Lead root cause investigations and preventive actions to reduce defects.
• Oversee disposition of nonconforming material via MRB and risk assessment.
• Partner with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and Program Management to integrate quality objectives.
• Develop quality performance dashboards and reporting for accountability.
• Build and lead a high-performing QA organization with staffing and training.
• Manage department resources, budgets, and capital for quality objectives.
• Ensure inspection staff are trained and current with requirements.
• Promote a culture of compliance, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Support strategic initiatives, certifications, and program growth.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
