Job summary

Avelo Airlines, Inc. is seeking a Manager, Quality Control to lead the QC team across maintenance operations in Houston. You will oversee RII compliance, weight and balance, and training programs to ensure safety and airworthiness.

Reporting to the leadership, you will work with FAA inspectors, develop processes, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining strong staffing and regulatory alignment in a fast‑paced aviation environment.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current and valid Airframe and Powerplant License.
• 3+ years maintenance on large airplanes with 10+ seats in an air carrier or certificated repair station.
• At least 1 year in a supervisory role maintaining the same category and class of aircraft.
• Experience managing on-time delivery of daily, weekly, or monthly reports per company manuals.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and ability to learn others (IOSA, DOD, OSHA, etc).
• Ability to author and revise efficient processes and procedures in company manuals.
• Process mapping and process design with a bias toward simplicity.
• Project and Program management.
• Current and valid Driver’s License with good driving record.
• Strong communication skills capable of working with crewmembers and authorities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
• Ability to work through complexity to identify root causes and implement simple solutions.
• Ability to teach and lead cross-functionally.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%
• Ability to work in outdoor environments around aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Superintend the RII program and authorizations to ensure CFR and company compliance.
• Manage the Weight and Balance program and aircraft data accuracy.
• Develop Tech Ops crewmembers through training content and delivery.
• Direct the Material Receiving Process for serviceability of materials.
• Lead QC department staff to uphold safety, airworthiness, and regulatory standards.
• Liaise with FAA inspectors and maintain transparent relationships.
• Develop and revise processes to keep operations simple and efficient.
