Job summary

DST LLC is seeking an Aviation Quality Assurance Inspector to monitor, inspect, and propose corrective measures to ensure final products meet FAA standards and company requirements.

The role includes implementing QA policies, conducting routine and detailed inspections, maintaining aircraft records, and collaborating with engineering for design improvements. Travel and overtime may be required; strong leadership is essential.

Qualifications

  • Mandatory familiarity with FAA regulations, IPM and ATA codes.
  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems and interrelations.
  • Experience inspecting final products and ensuring safety compliance.
  • Management or lead experience of at least 3 years.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and implement quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Perform routine and detailed inspections of final products.
  • Ensure products meet quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Maintain aircraft records (logs, FAA forms, ICA’s).
  • Inspect aircraft parts for damage prior to installation.
  • Collaborate with engineering and directors on design enhancements.
  • Document QA activities and generate reports.
  • Meet delivery deadlines for customer products.
  • Maintain punctuality and reliable attendance.

Job description

Summary

The Aviation Quality Assurance Inspector assists in monitoring, inspecting and proposing measures to correct or improve the organization’s final product in order to meet established quality standards and the requirements of FAA Rules and Regulations.

Essential Functions
  1. Preparing and implementing quality assurance policies and procedures.
  2. Performing routine and detailed inspections of final products to ensure they are up to industry and company standards.
  3. Ensuring that products adhere to quality standards and safety regulations are observed.
  4. Monitors and maintains aircraft records to include logbooks, FAA Form 337’s, ICA’s, Etc.
  5. Inspects all aircraft parts for damage, prior to installation.
  6. Works effectively with engineering and directors in recommending design enhancements and productivity improvements.
  7. Document quality assurance activities and create reports.
  8. Working according to deadlines for delivery of the customers products.
  9. Prompt and regular attendance.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are primarily Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with a half-hour unpaid lunch. The position may allow for remote workdays depending on the work load. Evening and weekend shifts may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Some travel will be required as requested by customers. Traveling includes overnight stays outside of the standard working location. Travel to other customer sites within the continental United States and OCONUS travel may be required.

Required Education and Experience
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.
  3. Inspection Authorization.
  4. Minimum Five (5) years’ of aircraft-related experience or have demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform all job tasks.
  5. Minimum of three (3) years’ of Managerial or Lead experience.
  6. Extensive knowledge of all aircraft mechanical systems functions and interactions.
  7. Thorough working knowledge of all current FAA regulations, IPM and ATA codes.
  8. One (1) to Two (2) years experience in a 145 Repair Station preferred.
Preferred Education and Experience
  1. Prior project management experience.
  2. Prior training experience on aircraft mechanical systems.
Other Hiring Requirements
  1. Valid Driver’s License.
  2. Ability to obtain a passport.
  3. U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain/maintain a United States Security Clearance.
  4. Must pass a DOT/FAA regulated drug screening.
