Job summary

American Airlines is seeking an Inspector to join the Quality Control Team within the Engineering and Quality Division. You will verify airworthiness, inspect materials and components, and perform NDT and borescope inspections to ensure safe return to service.

The role requires passing color perception tests, a valid AMT/FAA certification, and the ability to work in varied environmental conditions across maintenance bases. A strong safety mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Fluent English reading, writing and speaking required.
• Must pass color perception tests to qualify for inspection roles.
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant certification is preferred/required for AMT work.

Responsibilities

• Verify quality of workmanship and airworthiness of aircraft and components.
• Receive inspection of materials, parts, and subassemblies.
• Perform initial aircraft inspections at Maintenance Bases.
• Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) and borescope inspections as required.
• Sign mechanical flight releases and maintain compliance with safety procedures.
