Job summary

Alaska Airlines is seeking a Director of QA for Maintenance & Engineering to set the long‑term strategy and drive the QA program's success. You will lead a team of leaders to evaluate compliance, drive improvements, and report findings to senior leadership.

In this role you will develop risk-based surveillance, maintain auditee confidence, and partner with Safety to prioritize operational risk. Strong leadership, auditing, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • 8 years of experience in operational process auditing, or equivalent experience in maintenance leadership.
  • 5 years of leadership experience, with at least 2 of those years directly leading people.
  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in a discipline related to this role, or equivalent training/experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent communication and safety advocacy.

Responsibilities

  • Set long-term QA strategy for M&E, including budgeting and execution within time/cost constraints.
  • Establish metrics and data visualizations for CAMP, Engineering oversight, and SMS.
  • Develop QA surveillance plans covering internal practices, third-party providers, and CASÉ/IFQP reviews.
  • Lead cross-divisional risk assessments, adjust annual audit plans, and report findings to leaders.
  • Oversee QA activities, ensure rigorous root cause analysis and actionable executive summaries.
