Job summary

Kimley-Horn's San Jose office is seeking a Project Manager with 8+ years of aviation project experience to join our Aviation team. This is not a remote position and requires California licensure or ability to obtain within 12 months.

You will lead airport planning, design and construction tasks, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, monitor budgets and schedules, and foster strong client relationships while delivering high-quality plans and analyses.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of aviation engineering design experience.
  • California PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Familiarity with FAA Advisory Circulars and Engineering Briefs.
  • Familiarity with pavement design and FAAR Field Design Software.
  • Strong AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation experience.
  • Strong client engagement and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare analysis reports in support of airport planning, design, and construction.
  • Manage project tasks, design and permitting, construction coordination, and cross-team collaboration.
  • Coordinate work with multidisciplinary team to ensure project success.
  • Maintain high-quality sets of plans and check others' work.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers on diverse projects.
  • Build internal and external professional relationships.
