The Weitz Company is seeking a Project Manager with aviation construction experience to join our growing Aviation Business Unit. The ideal candidate will manage schedules, lead teams, and drive successful delivery of Baggage Handling System projects.

Qualifications

• At least five (5) years of experience in construction project management.
• Aviation construction experience is required.
• Baggage Handling System experience highly preferred.
• Experience leading, mentoring and developing teams.
• Experience in a fast-paced business environment is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage project schedules, address long lead items, update project plans and manage changes.
• Negotiate and execute change orders, subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Complete monthly project status reports, owner billings and financial risk assessments.
• Identify and recommend value engineering and scope reduction opportunities.
• Ensure the project safety plan is completed and communicated to the team and subcontractors.
• Assist with preconstruction efforts and manage buy-out process.
• Detect constructability issues with project design and ensure adherence to contract terms, budgets, insurances, bonds and change orders.
• Recommend staff development, disciplinary actions, and promotions.
