Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Senior Project Manager for our Aviation business unit to lead multiple projects, oversee administrative and field activities, and ensure quality and safety standards are met. You will build strong stakeholder relationships and drive project success from preconstruction through closeout.

Applicants should have at least five years in construction project management, leadership experience, and proficiency with PM software and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Industry-related college degree required; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
• At least five years of construction experience with project management responsibility.
• Aviation experience is highly preferred.
• PM software experience (JDE, Procore, Bluebeam, Asta) and MS Office proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage project schedule; identify long lead items; update plan and initiate changes.
• Negotiate and execute change orders, subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Complete monthly project status reports, owner billings and financial risk assessments.
• Identify value engineering and scope reduction opportunities.
• Ensure project safety plan is communicated to team and subcontractors.
• Assist with preconstruction efforts and manage buy-out process.
• Detect constructability issues with project design; monitor budgets and change orders.
• Understand terms, budgets, insurances, bonds and ensure adherence to scope.
• Recommend staff development, assignments and promotions.
