Job summary

Thomas Global Systems seeks a Production Manager, Part 21 & Part 145, to lead manufacturing, assembly, and testing of aircraft electronic systems at our Irvine, CA facility. You will drive on-time delivery, manage schedules, and mentor teams while upholding FAA/EASA and AS9100/ISO 9001 quality standards.

You’ll collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations to optimize workflows, reduce waste, and ensure first-pass quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or similar field.
• Minimum of 5 years of technical program management experience in aerospace or defense; 8+ years preferred.
• Proficiency with specialized avionics test equipment and software.
• Knowledge of FAA regulations and industry standards.
• U.S. person status required due to export control requirements.
• Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage daily and weekly production schedules to meet on-time delivery targets.
• Monitor shop floor activities and workflows to ensure on-schedule completion.
• Identify and resolve production bottlenecks and coordinate parts availability.
• Manage capacity planning and distribute workloads across departments.
• Lead, mentor, and develop team members; conduct performance evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA/EASA, and internal procedures.
• Promote first-pass quality and maintain clean, safe work areas (FOD prevention).
• Oversee inspection and certification activities for return to service.
• Drive Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste and shorten lead times.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs for shop equipment and facilities.
• Oversee Part 21 production and Part 145 repair station activities within approvals.
