Job summary

Surf Air Mobility is seeking a Buyer/Analyst to source, purchase, and manage parts, tooling, and services for fleet maintenance. You will issue and track purchase orders, coordinate with Maintenance Planning, and ensure timely delivery with quality compliance.

Responsibilities include creating POs, managing supplier bids and contracts, analyzing consumption, and negotiating terms. Requires aviation industry purchasing experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GMM 135 Regulations and Dangerous Goods CFR 49.
• Experience with MROs and repair order administration.
• Knowledge of aircraft component exchange programs and warranties.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for purchasing and spare inventory.
• Ability to solve complex problems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide material support to the entire company.
• Create purchase or repair orders with vendors to meet internal requirements.
• Coordinate with Maintenance Planning to ensure materials are purchased and staged in advance.
• Assist in development of RFPs, bids, supplier contracts, and provisions.
• Receive and action materials requisitions from Maintenance Stations or internal sources.
• Review inventory levels, requisitions, station allocations & usage data for stock coverage.
• Analyze consumption data and forecast parts requirements; prepare RFPs; negotiate terms.
• Manage removed cores and repair order process; determine BER.
• Identify supplier capabilities and repair options.
• File claims for failed components under warranty; damaged or lost-in-transit items.
• Analyze procurement costs; develop cost reductions; negotiate terms.
• Develop sourcing and planning strategies (short & long term).
• Experience with aviation industry sourcing (MRO).
• Monitor rotable and expendable spares; set ROPs.
• Maintain approved supplier list and monitor performance.
• Stay aware of industry changes and alternate sources.
• Participate in inventory reviews and audits.
• Support surplus sales initiatives.
• Report cost savings and avoidance.
• Resolve invoicing issues with Finance.
• Maintain housekeeping and security in inventory areas.
• Other duties as assigned.
