Job summary

Skyryse is seeking a PMA Production Technician to execute precise assembly, testing, tear-down, and inspection of aviation hardware, supporting SkyOS development under FAA regulations and AS9100 quality systems.

This full-time onsite role is based in El Segundo, CA, with responsibilities including soldering (through-hole and surface-mount), PCBA rework, reading blueprints, using calipers and multimeters, and documenting nonconformances.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in an aviation production environment.
• Certification in J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, or equivalent industry standards.
• Experience with assembly instructions, blueprint reading, and other specifications.
• Basic computer skills: Windows, MacOS, Excel, Gmail.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime as needed.
• Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong proficiency in soldering, including both through-hole and surface-mount techniques, while adhering to industry-standard workmanship requirements (J-STD-001 & IPC-A-610).
• Ensure compliance with industry certifications, including J-STD-001 & IPC-A-610, or other relevant certifications, and maintain familiarity with their standards and guidelines.
• Carry out PCBA rework, component replacement, and troubleshooting on circuit boards, identifying and correcting solder defects, damaged traces, and other issues in accordance with established rework procedures.
• Perform assembly, tear-downs, inspections, and testing of mechanical and electromechanical components as well as other LRUs.
• Read and understand manufacturing blueprints, wire diagrams, planning documents, test specifications, and other applicable documents.
• Utilize hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, multimeters, and more to assist with testing and assembly of PMA parts.
• Initiate and document any nonconforming materials, hardware, software, tools, parts, assemblies, or portions thereof, according to specifications, processes, and procedures.
• Assist with other functions of the manufacturing of aircraft parts as needed.
