Job summary

The City of Charlotte is seeking an Airport Planning Project Coordinator to assist the Planning Program Manager with complex planning tasks at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. You will engage with internal and external groups to advance planning efforts and support the airport's master plans and development initiatives.

Responsibilities include developing planning programs, managing the Capital Improvement Program on near-, short-, and long-term horizons, and preparing reports for

Qualifications

• Knowledge of town/city/regional planning practices and design strategies.
• Knowledge of air traffic functions, policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Part 77 airspace analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develops planning programs, compiles and analyzes planning data.
• Assists with the development and management of the Airport's Capital Improvement Program for a near-, short-, and long-term horizon.
• Researches and prepares reports and plans to support complex issues such as the Airport Master Plan and related programs.
• Coordinates planning and construction projects with other departments and public agencies.
• Provides technical support on planning principles.
• Presents plans or project overviews to public groups including the Airport Community Roundtable and other committees.
• Collaborates with Finance to maintain working planning documents.
• Assists Financial Planning with providing project information to aid grant administration.
• Coordinates with internal stakeholders for land acquisition, land use, and land disposal.
• Coordinate with state and federal agencies throughout the project life cycle.
