Woolpert is seeking an Aviation Planning Project Manager to join our National Aviation team. The role focuses on master plans, airport layout plans, AAM initiatives, and emerging aviation technologies, expanding Woolpert’s footprint as an industry leader.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of aviation planning experience, strong communication, and a collaborative mindset to drive profitable growth through client relationships and thoughtful project delivery.

Qualifications

• Aviation Subject Matter Expertise in areas such as Airport Layout Plans, Airport Master Plans, instrument approaches, pavements, facility planning studies, or site development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a dynamic environment.
• Must be willing to travel to clients, conferences and Woolpert offices.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
• Rapidly adapt to industry changes and internal initiatives.

• Advise clients on innovative technology and content to support decision making and migration strategies.
• Advise, author, and guide airport planning and design actions on master plans, airport layout plans, and airspace integration initiatives for clients.
• Collaborate with National Aviation Services Operations and aviation staff to meet practice goals.
• Contribute to business growth by developing pipelines of new/existing opportunities in Aviation Planning and AAM.
• Lead partnerships with other aviation consultants to win and perform projects.
• Maintain industry expertise on emerging technologies and regulations and partner with industry leaders.

Position Overview:

Woolpert is hiring an Aviation Planning Project Manager to join our dynamic Aviation National team. Our ideal candidate would be an Aviation Planning Project Manager with a broad planning aperture that includes Master Plans, Airport Layout Plans, Site/Facility Plans, research and Statewide Planning Efforts. Additional preferences include experience in emerging technology and policies regarding Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), and other aviation enterprise technology. Our ideal Aviation Project Manager is one that is forward-looking, collaborative, and energized to expand Woolpert’s existing footprint as an emerging industry leader within the established fields of Aviation Planning and AAM as well as other emerging technology niches. Success will be measured by your ability to develop, lead, and manage profitable growth through meaningful client relationships.

What You Will Do:

• Advise clients regarding innovative technology and content to help them make better decisions. Recommend relevant strategies and work with customers to prepare implementation and migration strategies.
• Advise, author, and guide airport planning and design activities on master plans, airport layout plans, and/or airspace integration initiatives for internal and external clients.
• Understand our clients and know their business.
• Collaborate closely with the National Aviation Services Operations team and dedicated aviation staff to deliver the practice goals.
• Assist in business growth of Aviation Planning, AAM applications, and other consulting services by developing and supporting a pipeline of new and existing business/contract opportunities.
• Drive partnerships with other consultants in the aviation industry to win and perform projects.
• Develop and maintain industry expertise in emerging technologies and regulations, including partnerships with strategic industry leaders.
• Maintain a thought-leader/Subject Matter Expert profile in the industry by preparing related articles and/or speaking at regional conference presentations.
• Work with staff to ensure successful project delivery, consistent quality, customer satisfaction, financial performance, and team/office satisfaction.
• Manage, monitor, and forecast metrics including: Backlog, Profit and Loss, Sales, Net Revenue, Utilization, Continuing Education, and Non-Billable Travel and Expenses for yourself.
• Lead and support where appropriate proposals, shortlist presentations, and white papers for prospective clients and participate in contract negotiations with clients.
• Provide quality reviews of project documentation including work plans thru final deliverables.

What You Will Bring:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a minimum of 5+ years’ of related work experience.
