Job summary

Woolpert is seeking an Aviation Planning Project Manager to join our Aviation National team. You will lead master plans, airport layout plans, and related initiatives with a forward-looking, collaborative approach to grow Woolpert’s footprint in Aviation Planning and AAM.

Travel to clients and offices is required. The role emphasizes building client relationships, delivering quality projects, and developing industry leadership through thought leadership and strategic partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 5+ years of related work experience.
  • Aviation Subject Matter Expertise in Airport Layout Plans, Master Plans, or related areas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a dynamic environment.
  • willingness to travel to clients, conferences and Woolpert offices.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Adapt quickly to industry changes and internal initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on innovative technology and content to inform decisions and migration strategies.
  • Guide airport planning activities on master plans, layout plans, and airspace initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the National Aviation Services Operations team to meet goals.
  • Develop and support a pipeline of Aviation Planning, AAM applications and related opportunities.
  • Lead proposals, shortlists, presentations, and contract negotiations with clients.
  • Ensure quality reviews of project documentation from work plans to final deliverables.

Position Overview

Woolpert is hiring an Aviation Planning Project Manager to join our dynamic Aviation National team. Our ideal candidate would be an Aviation Planning Project Manager with a broad planning aperture that includes Master Plans, Airport Layout Plans, Site/Facility Plans, research and Statewide Planning Efforts. Additional preferences include experience in emerging technology and polices regarding Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), and other aviation enterprise technology. Our ideal Aviation Project Manager is one that is forward-looking, collaborative, and energized to expand Woolpert’s existing footprint as an emerging industry leader within the established fields of Aviation Planning and AAM as well as other emerging technology niches. Success will be measured by your ability to develop, lead, and manage profitable growth through meaningful client relationships.

What You Will Do
  • Advise clients regarding innovative technology and content to help them make better decisions. Recommend relevant strategies and work with customers to prepare implementation and migration strategies.
  • Advise, author, and guide airport planning and design activities on master plans, airport layout plans, and/or airspace integration initiatives for internal and external clients.
  • Understand our clients and know their business.
  • Collaborate closely with the National Aviation Services Operations team and dedicated aviation staff to deliver the practice goals.
  • Assist in business growth of Aviation Planning, AAM applications, and other consulting services by developing and supporting a pipeline of new and existing business/contract opportunities.
  • Drive partnerships with other consultants in the aviation industry to win and perform projects.
  • Develop and maintain industry expertise in emerging technologies and regulations, including partnerships with strategic industry leaders.
  • Maintain a thought-leader/Subject Matter Expert profile in the industry by preparing related articles and/or speaking at regional conference presentations.
  • Work with staff to ensure successful project delivery, consistent quality, customer satisfaction, financial performance, and team/office satisfaction.
  • Manage, monitor, and forecast metrics including: Backlog, Profit and Loss, Sales, Net Revenue, Utilization, Continuing Education, and Non-Billable Travel and Expenses for yourself.
  • Lead and support where appropriate proposals, shortlist presentations, and white papers for prospective clients and participate in contract negotiations with clients.
  • Provide quality reviews of project documentation including work plans thru final deliverables.
What You Will Bring

  • Must be willing to travel to clients, conferences and other Woolpert offices.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Quickly adapt and respond to industry changes as well as internal initiatives.

Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Pay Range

$87,100 - $108,900 USD
