Job summary

Segers Aero Corporation in Fairhope, AL is seeking a Painter to join our team. The role involves cleaning, welding, sheet metal work and painting engines and components, with exposure to hazardous chemicals per FAA/DOT safety rules.

You will work under supervision, follow routings, meet production schedules, and adhere to PPE and safety procedures. A high school diploma and at least 1 year of aircraft painting experience are required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and interpret SDS and Technical Data Sheets to safely mix paints.
• Must be able to use scales for mixing ratios.
• Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
• Must be able to work with little supervision and take initiative.
• Must be able to apply common sense and read/write/communicate in English.
• Must be able to use specific company software and Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and more with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Cleans aviation parts with PRF680 mineral spirit, glass and plastic bead.
• Prepares for painting by cleaning, stripping, sanding, or chemically treating if needed.
• Preps parts for painting (clean, tape, alodine).
• Cures specific parts using oven as necessary.
• Maintains a clean/workspace and properly stores tooling.
• Observes safety procedures and PPE usage.
