Job summary

West Star Aviation is seeking a Paint Technician for the weekend shift (Friday–Sunday, 6am–6:30pm) in Grand Junction, CO. The role involves painting aircraft, applying base coats and top coats, masking, sanding, and maintaining a clean, safe paint booth.

The position includes a shift differential and a 3-day workweek, with benefits starting on day one. The ideal candidate has 0–2 years in aviation or related painting, with a high school diploma or equivalent and a willingness to learn FAA

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Vo-tech paint training preferred (but not required).
• A valid driver’s license or passport is ideal for travel.
• 0-2 years of paint experience in aviation, auto, RV, marine or related field.
• Must follow FAA guidelines during work.

Responsibilities

• Masking and taping aircraft parts to avoid overspray.
• Sanding primer.
• Blowing and cleaning aircraft with thinner.
• Washing the paint booth.
• Applying all layers of paint to include top coat.
• Laying out stripe and design schemes.
• Prep and scuff paint to get ready for trim.
• Re-masking aircraft and detail work.
• Inspect completed paint jobs.
• Paint mixing and paint matching.
• Communicate clearly in English.
