Job summary

Global Support and Development (GSD) is seeking an Aviation Operations and Compliance Specialist to lead air movements, manage charter networks, and ensure FAA compliance for rapid-response humanitarian missions in the Caribbean and Central America. This on-site role in Charlotte requires 5+ years in aviation operations and strong knowledge of aviation regulations.

Responsibilities include policy development, vendor coordination, training, and overseeing air cargo movements up to 10,000 lbs.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of aviation operations experience, preferably humanitarian sector.
• Three or more years operating in international aviation contexts, with small operators preferred.
• Understanding of CFR Parts 91, 133, 135 and related permits.
• Experience with aviation safety management systems and risk management.
• Knowledge of ICAO regulations and air charter markets in the LAC region.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement aviation policy, plans, and processes in support of departmental strategy.
• Maintain relationships with charter operators and ensure master service agreements and insurance requirements are up to date.
• Coordinate aviation training for personnel in maritime and land environments.
• Arrange aerial movement of personnel and cargo up to 10,000 lbs and plan aviation support.
• Coordinate permits and liaise with insurers, legal, and vendors.
