Job summary

Duke Energy is offering a Summer Aviation Intern role in Charlotte, NC. You will engage with corporate aviation operations, gain exposure to fixed wing, rotor wing, unmanned flight, and aircraft support activities.

The internship emphasizes hands-on experience, mentorship, and learning across aviation functions. Eligibility includes current enrollment in an aviation-related program and a 2.75+ GPA.

Qualifications

• High school graduate required.
• Pursuing a 2- or 4-year aviation-related degree with a minimum GPA where stated.
• FAA license/certificate desired for dispatch, A&P, pilot or remote pilot.

Responsibilities

• Greet passengers and attend to their needs.
• Perform various back office functions for the aviation team.
• Review aviation reports for accuracy.
• Review flight logs and file appropriately.
• Receive catering, parts shipments, etc.
• Support flight operations.
• Assist with scheduling and dispatch as needed.
• Assist Chief Pilot with scheduling and planning.
• Provide weather review and analysis support.
• Assist flight operations and maintenance as needed.
• Contact hotels and rental car agencies for flight crew.
• Perform hangar inspections and assist with maintenance/cleanup.
• Inventory supplies.
• Participate in training and learn aviation operations.
• Collaborate with teams to support operations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects.
• Adhere to safety protocols at all times.
