Job summary

Southwest Tennessee Community College is seeking an adjunct instructor in the Department of Technologies to deliver and evaluate instruction for the Professional Pilot Technology program. The role involves classroom teaching on various shifts, curriculum development, and active student engagement across campuses.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, FAA certificates, and teaching experience; strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college/university.
  • FAA pilot certificates and endorsements to meet Part 141 requirements (e.g., Commercial Pilot, CFI, CFII).
  • Flight Dispatcher License and strong understanding of the aviation industry.
  • Knowledge of Teaching Methods & Instructional Design.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and delivers instruction on topics of the Professional Pilot Technology program.
  • Compiles, administers, evaluates and grades students' work and communicates progress.
  • Develops curricula and instructional materials such as syllabi and handouts.
  • Maintains office hours for student support and assists in recruitment/retention.
  • Maintains accurate attendance and gradesRecord keeping compliant with FERPA.
  • Attends faculty meetings and professional development activities.
  • Participates in departmental committees and outreach to the community.
