Job summary

American Airlines is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) to service aircraft, conduct inspections, and ensure airworthiness across our fleet. You will handle mechanical tasks, ground power connections, and aircraft towing, while adhering to safety and regulatory requirements.

The role requires 24 months of hands-on machining/aircraft experience, a Machinist certificate (CNC & manual), and the ability to work outdoors in all weather. DOT and FAA compliance are mandatory.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand English.
  • Valid certificate of completion or its equivalent from an accredited Machinist Program (CNC & manual).
  • Minimum of 24 months hands-on machining experience (mill, lathe, grinder, CNC).
  • Experience in repair/maintenance/overhaul of aircraft or comparable parts.
  • Willing to work outdoors in any weather.
  • Willing to work extra hours for operational needs (weather delays).
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off.
  • Regular and timely attendance.
  • FAA background checks for SIDA access.
  • Ability to secure airport authority/US Customs badges.
  • DOT drug and alcohol testing compliance.
  • Travel to interview and relocation expenses are candidate's responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Service aircraft, including mechanical work to maintain airworthiness.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance inspections.
  • Sign off on workmanship per manuals and references.
  • Connect/remove ground power and ground start units.
  • Push out/tow aircraft and perform guideman functions.
