Job summary

FSB Architects + Engineers in Los Angeles, CA seeks an experienced Interior Designer to join our Aviation Studio. You will lead interior design efforts for aviation projects, collaborating with engineers and architects to deliver functional, durable spaces that enhance passenger experience.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s in Interior Design (CIDA-accredited), 3+ years of experience (aviation preferred), Revit proficiency, and knowledge of codes. NCIDQ is preferred or pursued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field from a CIDA-accredited program.
• 3+ years of professional interior design experience; aviation projects preferred.
• Revit proficiency; experience with Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Enscape.
• NCIDQ certification preferred or actively pursuing certification.
• Knowledge of building codes, accessibility, materials, and standards.
• Strong design, space planning, documentation, and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to interior design efforts for aviation projects through all phases of design and documentation.
• Develop design concepts, space plans, finish palettes, material selections, and furniture solutions aligned with client goals and project requirements.
• Translate design concepts into functional, durable environments that support passenger experience, airport operations, and long-term facility needs.
• Prepare and coordinate interior design drawings, specifications, details, schedules, and construction documents.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and other disciplines to integrate interior design with building systems and overall project design.
• Participate in client meetings, presentations, design reviews, and coordination meetings.
• Research and select materials, finishes, furnishings, and products based on aesthetics, performance, maintenance, sustainability, and budget.
• Support construction administration, including submittal reviews, RFIs, site observations, and coordination of design-related issues.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to developing designers while contributing to a collaborative studio environment.
