Job summary

Frankfurt-Short-Bruza Associates, P.C. in Denver, CO is seeking an experienced Interior Designer to join our Aviation Studio.

You will contribute to design and delivery of aviation projects, collaborating with architects, engineers, consultants, clients, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings strong design instincts, technical knowledge, and an understanding of materials, space planning, passenger experience, and operational requirements in complex environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related field from a CIDA-accredited program.
  • 3+ years of professional interior design experience; aviation-design experience preferred (airports, hangars, terminals, or related facilities).
  • NCIDQ certification or licensure preferred or actively pursued.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to interior design efforts for aviation projects through all phases of design and documentation.
  • Develop design concepts, space plans, finish palettes, material selections, and furniture solutions aligned with client goals.
  • Translate design concepts into functional, durable environments that support passenger experience and airport operations.
  • Prepare and coordinate interior design drawings, specifications, details, schedules, and construction documents.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and other disciplines to integrate interior design with building systems and overall project design.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, design reviews, and coordination meetings.
  • Research and select materials, finishes, furnishings, and products based on aesthetics, performance, maintenance, sustainability, and budget.
  • Support construction administration including submittal reviews, RFIs, site observations, and coordination of design-related issues.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to developing designers while contributing to a collaborative studio environment.

From passenger terminals and concourses to hangars, and other airport facilities, our multidisciplinary teams bring architecture, interior design, and engineering together to create spaces that are functional, intuitive, durable, and welcoming.

We’re seeking an experienced Interior Designer to join our Aviation Studio in Denver, CO. This role will contribute to the design and delivery of aviation projects while collaborating closely with architects, engineers, consultants, clients, and project stakeholders. Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related field from a CIDA-accredited program.
  • 3+ years of professional interior design experience required; experience with aviation design projects, including airport, airline, terminal, hangar, maintenance, support facility, or related aviation infrastructure projects, is preferred.
  • NCIDQ certification or professional licensure preferred, or actively working toward certification.
  • Proficiency in Revit required.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Enscape, or other design and visualization tools preferred.
  • Knowledge of building codes, accessibility requirements, interior construction, materials, and industry standards.
  • Strong design, space planning, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Experience participating in client presentations and project coordination preferred.

Work Arrangement & Travel

  • This is a full-time position based in our Denver, CO office.
  • Travel may be required for client meetings, airport and project site visits, construction observation, design coordination, and other project-related activities.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is $75,000 to $95,000 per year. Compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, licensure, skills, internal equity, and location. This role is eligible for a benefits package that may include medical, dental, vision, paid time off, paid holidays, and retirement plan options. Stated benefits are for regular full-time positions. Temporary and part-time roles are eligible for limited benefits.
