Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Cost Estimator to support the LAWA Terminal 5 program in California. The role involves developing and maintaining project cost estimates across all design and construction phases, with emphasis on detailed analyses, forecasting, and reporting to enable informed decisions.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 10+ years of cost estimating experience, including large-scale infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
• 10+ years of cost estimating and/or project management experience for large capital projects.
• Experience preparing detailed estimates for commercial/institutional/transportation projects.
• Knowledge of CSI divisions, construction means and methods, and current market pricing.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff and Bluebeam; strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates for aviation and vertical construction projects at various design stages.
• Develop detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analyses from plans and specifications.
• Review consultant and contractor estimates for accuracy and compliance.
• Perform independent cost estimates (ICE) and reconciliation exercises.
• Support budget development, cost planning, and program-wide forecasting.
• Analyze labor, material, equipment, subcontractor costs and market conditions.
• Assist with cost trending, change management, contingency analysis, and risk assessments.
• Participate in value engineering and constructability reviews.
• Maintain historical cost databases and benchmarking tools.
• Coordinate with LAWA stakeholders, designers, contractors, and program management.
