Job summary

Worldwide Flight Services in Florida seeks a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to perform full maintenance on ground support equipment, troubleshoot issues, and ensure safety and quality in all tasks. The role emphasizes independent work, adherence to procedures, and accurate maintenance documentation.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 18+ years old, English proficiency, and a valid driver’s license, with rotating shifts including weekends and holidays. TWU union coverage applies.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Valid driver's license; ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, replace, test, and reassemble ground equipment.
• Complete preventative maintenance.
• Install, service, fabricate, and tow equipment in service or during modification.
• Certify quality of workmanship and sign off on field mechanical releases.
• Handle parts and supply logistics: ordering, receiving, inventory and disbursement of materials.
• Operate vehicles up to 10 tons (40 tons in select roles) safely.
• Read and interpret technical manuals; complete maintenance forms clearly and accurately.
• Work independently with minimal supervision following procedures.
