Job summary

Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul ground support equipment at our Windsor Locks location. You will work on baggage loaders, tow tractors, power units, and forklifts while following company procedures and safety rules.

The role requires reading maintenance manuals, passing background checks for an Airport Badge, and the ability to work with color-coded wiring and diagrams.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent is required.
• Ability to read and work from diagrams as required.
• Ability to read color coded wires (red, green, yellow, blue, black, brown, white, orange).
• Familiarity with personal computer software is helpful.
• Must be able to pass a 10-year Background check to obtain an Airport Badge.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspection, preventive maintenance, and repairs on ground support equipment such as baggage loaders and forklifts.
• Utilize fleet management software to maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain a clean, organized workshop and proper storage of tools and parts.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and safety procedures.
• Communicate with team members, supervisors, and vendors to coordinate repairs and parts.
