Job summary

Akima Readiness Support (ARS) in Maryland seeks a Fuels Distribution System Operator (FDSO) Lead to supervise fuel handling operations and ensure safety, accountability, and regulatory compliance at the Joint Base Andrews site. You will dispense aviation fuel, de-icing fluids, gasoline, and related products using fixed facilities and mobile equipment.

The role requires 5+ years of fuel handling experience, a Class B CDL with tanker and HAZMAT endorsements, and the ability to obtain a DOD

Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship required.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of verifiable fuel handling experience.
Class B CDL with tanker, air brake, and HAZMAT endorsements or ability to obtain within 90 days.
Ability to lift 40 lbs.
Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
Knowledge of governing fuels regulations and instructions.
Ability to obtain a DOD security clearance; secret clearance a plus.
Military fuel experience is a plus; familiarity with DOD fuel systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform duties related to issuing, receiving, storing, and dispensing aviation fuel and other fluids.
Lead Fuels Operations and coordinate tasks with Fuels Management Team.
Provide expert technical advice on equipment and operations.
Ensure safety and regulatory compliance in daily tasks.
