Job summary

Akima Readiness Support (ARS) in Maryland seeks a Fuels Distribution System Operator (FDSO) Lead to supervise Fuels Management Team tasks and ensure secure, safe, and efficient fuel handling across multiple fluids. You will act as a technical expert on equipment and system operations within your AOR and coordinate with the FMT to meet mission requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of verifiable fuel handling experience.
• Class B CDL with tanker, air brake, and HAZMAT endorsements or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to obtain a DOD security clearance; secret clearance is a plus.
• Military Fuels experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with DoD fuels management systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform all assigned duties as directed by AFI 23-101, AFM 23-122 and AFI 23-201, applicable Technical Orders, and other publications.
• Assigns FMT Management tasks to fuels personnel within the AOR.
• Ensure all FDSO daily tasks are completed by assigned fuels personnel.
• Provide fuel support for the 24/7 Joint Base Andrews, Maryland no-fail missions.
• Maintain facilities, equipment, and grounds in a clean, safe, and neat manner.
• Report accidents, injuries, and near-miss or hazardous situations timely.
• Perform Facility Manager duties, if assigned.
• Perform all contract/fuels related additional duties and tasks as assigned.
