Job summary

KBR is seeking a Senior Operations Specialist to join our team in Patuxent River, Maryland, supporting PMA-265 and the Airworthiness and CyberSafe Office (ACO) at NAVAIR. The role focuses on managing flight clearance products and coordinating with engineering to obtain airworthiness approvals.

Responsibilities include producing data for the ePower Data Base, handling Interim Flight Clearances, and providing customer support to the National Airworthiness Team and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree plus 4 years of experience; or 12 years of related experience without a degree.
• Experience in flight clearance facilitation and/or DoD Aviation Operator, aircraft test and evaluation and/or aircraft maintenance is desired.
• Experience with T&E of naval aircraft systems is desired; NAVAIR/NAWCAD processes and procedures are highly desired.
• Experience with Common Message Processor (CMP) is highly desired.
• Experience with ePower database document tracking software is also highly desired.
• Experience in program management, technical, or business analysis discipline related to weapon systems acquisition and life cycle management per DoD 5000 series is desired.
• Excellent customer service skills are required for this role.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Candidate must be able to function efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and be a self-starter.
• Knowledge of the Flight Clearance Process is highly desired.
• Must be a U.S. citizen. An active SECRET clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and execute the management and development of all flight clearance products for F/A-18 IFCs, NATOPS, NATIP, supporting the Fleet, Test Communities and FMS.
• Develop content and facilitate flight clearance progression through engineering review for airworthiness approval; manage content and submit Interim Flight Clearances.
• Coordinate weekly inputs for all planned and in-work interim and permanent flight clearances to support with Class Desks and establish priorities for all F-18 clearances; provide customer support.
• Receive, track, and process flight clearance Naval messages and non-message center flight clearances, cancellations, and requests.
