Acron Aviation is seeking an early- to mid-career Firmware Engineer to join the surveillance hardware team. You will design, develop, verify, and maintain safety-critical firmware for avionics and embedded systems for TCAS and transponder applications in DO-254 compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 4–9 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with FPGA and firmware design for avionics.
  • Hands-on RF or sensor system experience is required.
  • Knowledge of DO-254 and certification processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain FPGA-based hardware solutions.
  • Develop and verify FPGA designs utilizing VHDL and/or Verilog RTL coding.
  • Perform simulation, debugging, and validation activities to meet requirements.
  • Execute requirements-based verification activities and document verification results.
  • Apply DO-254 processes and related certification activities throughout development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, quality, certification, and program teams.
  • Travel up to 10% to support customers and project activities.
