Job summary

Acron Aviation is seeking an early- to mid-career Firmware Engineer to design, develop, verify, and maintain safety-critical firmware for avionics and embedded systems used in TCAS and transponder applications. You will work with hardware engineers, system architects, and certification authorities to ensure DO-254 compliance across the product lifecycle.

Ideal candidates will have FPGA/ASIC experience and VHDL/Verilog proficiency, with FAA/EASA-certified aerospace system experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering; 4–9 years of related experience.
  • Graduate Degree and minimum 5 years of related experience are preferred.
  • Experience with FPGA and firmware design for avionics.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, verify, and maintain firmware for TRU/TCAS and transponder applications.
  • Apply DO-254 processes throughout the hardware development lifecycle.
  • Perform requirements-based verification and document results per program standards.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, and certification teams to meet timelines.
  • Prepare design and certification documentation (HRD/HDD, PHAC) as required.
  • Travel up to 10% to support customers and project activities.
