Acron Aviation designs, engineers, and manufactures certified avionics systems for safety-critical flight operations. The firmware engineer will design, develop, verify, and maintain firmware for TCAS and transponder applications in DO-254 compliant workflows.

The role involves collaboration with hardware, systems, and certification teams across multiple aircraft platforms, with travel up to 10% to support customers and programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 4–9 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with FPGA and firmware design across avionics or RF systems.
  • Experience in requirements definition, verification, design reviews, and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain FPGA-based hardware solutions.
  • Verify FPGA designs using VHDL/Verilog RTL coding and simulations.
  • Perform requirements-based verification and document results per cert requirements (DO-254).
  • Prepare certification artifacts and maintain DO-254 processes throughout development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage with customers as needed.
  • Travel up to 10% to support customers and program activities.
