Job description

SUMMARY: The Aviation Electrical Technician I must demonstrate high mechanical aptitude and will inspect, service, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul aircraft components while maintaining a safe work environment and following all company and federal rules/regulations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, modify and service aircraft HVAC Systems and Galley Systems.
  2. Perform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required.
  3. Maintain all shop calibrated tools in satisfactory operational conditions.
  4. Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with approved technical and regulatory data.
  5. Perform work assignments as determined by the shop lead.
  6. Use appropriate inspection techniques and calibrated equipment for the unit/part being accomplished.
  7. Comply with environmental health and safety policies and procedures.
  8. Record information and accomplish the work assignments in compliance with the inspection procedures manual in quality policies and procedures.
  9. Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings.
  10. Perform all assigned tasks in a safe and timely manner.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Technical Degree (Airframe and Powerplant Certification) or equivalent.
  2. 4+ years of relevant/technical work experience OR an additional 3 years of specific work experience in lieu of degree.
  3. The ability to teardown, inspect, parts requisition, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of aircraft HVAC Systems and Galley Systems.
  4. Must be able to multi-task/project oriented with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced industry meeting established timelines.
  5. Have acceptable verbal, writing, listening, and interpersonal skills to interact with all functional levels of internal contacts.
  6. Be detail-oriented and organized.
  7. Must be computer literate, and proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  8. Willing to work additional hours when operational objectives require it.
  9. Ability to prioritize and to work without close supervision.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Airframe and Powerplant Certification or equivalent.
  2. 7+ years of bench work experience on HVAC Systems.
  3. Strong knowledge of HVAC Systems, soldering techniques, schematics, multimeter, troubleshooting electrical issues.
  4. Strong knowledge of Aircraft Galley systems: Coffee Makers, Water Heaters, Steam Ovens, Air Chillers, Refrigerators.
  5. FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic’s License.

OTHER: The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.
